Your quote log, without the spreadsheet.
A spreadsheet is a fine way to list quotes. It is a poor way to chase them, keep their revisions, turn the winners into orders and invoice them. This is what changes when you move the quote log into a CRM built for manufacturers.
- Import quote lines from Excel or CSV
- Two weeks free on your own account
- From £99 a month per company
What the spreadsheet does well.
It is free, everybody already knows how to use it, and it bends to fit whatever you need on the day. For a business sending a handful of quotes a month, that can be enough.
Where it stops.
It cannot remind anybody to chase a quote, it does not know which revision is current, and when a job is won it has to be typed again into an order and an invoice. Two people editing it at once is how rows go missing.
Side by side.
| Job | Spreadsheet quote log | ManufactIQ CRM |
|---|---|---|
| Logging an enquiry | A new row, if somebody remembers | Logged against the company and contact, with its own reference |
| Website enquiries | Copied in from the email | Wait for approval, matched to the customers you already have |
| Quote revisions | A new tab, or saved over | Every revision kept, with a history of what was priced when |
| Sending the quote | Copied into a Word template | A PDF on your letterhead, straight from the CRM |
| Chasing | Whoever looks at the sheet | A task with a date and an owner; on Pro, a reminder before the quote expires |
| Winning the job | Retyped into an order | The quote becomes an order without retyping |
| Invoicing | Worked out separately | Raised against the order, in parts, with due-date reminders |
| Win rate | A formula somebody wrote once | Win rate, average deal, sales cycle and a weighted forecast in the sales report |
| Two people at once | Locked file, or lost rows | Everybody works in the same system |

Retire the sheet
