Feature · Outlook add-in

From the email to a drafted enquiry, in one click.

Most enquiries arrive as an email with a purchase order, a drawing or a spreadsheet attached. ManufactIQ for Outlook reads the one you have open and drafts the enquiry in the CRM: the customer and the contact, what they are asking for line by line, and which of your products each line is. You check it, correct it and approve it.

  • Part of the Pro plan
  • Signs in with Microsoft 365
  • Nothing added until you approve
How it works

Read the email, press the button, approve the draft.

The pane sits beside the email in Outlook. It does nothing until somebody asks it to.

  1. Open the email

Press the ManufactIQ button on the ribbon. The pane shows who you are signed in as, the email it is looking at and the files attached to it.

  2. Tick the attachments

Purchase orders, drawings, photographs and spreadsheets are read along with the message; pictures embedded in the signature are left out unless you tick them.

  3. Draft the enquiry

ManufactIQ reads the lot and proposes the enquiry: the company and contact, matched to the ones you already have; the title and a faithful description; every item with its quantity, matched to your price book by meaning rather than wording, with its size where a product comes in sizes.

  4. Check and approve

The draft waits in Enquiries, To be approved, with the files kept beside it. Correct anything it got wrong, choose the products, and approve: that is the moment the enquiry, and any new product, is made.

    Enquiries

The enquiry logged the day it lands.

An enquiry that waits in an inbox for a quiet afternoon is an enquiry nobody is chasing. With the add-in, logging it is quicker than forwarding it, so the pipeline shows every live opportunity from the day it arrives, with the customer's own files attached to it.

Matched to your price book.

A customer's "roller racking unit" is your "mobile shelving bay"; a purchase order calls it by its own part number. Each line is matched to your products by what it means, and anything the price book does not have is proposed as a new product for you to accept or rename. A product that comes in sizes is one product: the size goes on each line.

Nothing happens behind your back.

The add-in reads only the email that is open, and only when the button is pressed. It asks for no access to your mailboxes, it does not read or send mail on its own, and nothing reaches the CRM until a person approves the draft.

Plans

Part of the Pro plan.

ManufactIQ for Outlook is included in Pro, for the whole company and every Outlook in it. On any other plan the button still opens the pane, which says so, and a word with us moves you across.

Compare the plans

For your IT team.

  • Works in the new Outlook on Windows, classic Outlook on Windows with Microsoft 365, Outlook on the web and Outlook on Mac.
  • People sign in with the Microsoft 365 account they already use in Outlook, once your organisation is linked to your ManufactIQ account. Where Outlook cannot pass that sign-in on, they use their ManufactIQ email address and password.
  • Deploy it to everybody from the Microsoft 365 admin centre, or add it to one Outlook from its link: https://manufactiq.co.uk/outlook/manifest.xml.

Questions about the add-in.

Which plans include the Outlook add-in?

ManufactIQ for Outlook is part of the Pro plan. On any other plan the button still opens the pane, and the pane says so.

What does it do with the email?

It reads the open email and the attachments you tick, and drafts the enquiry: the customer and contact, what they are asking for line by line, and which of your products each line is, with the size where a product comes in sizes. The draft waits in Enquiries, To be approved, and nothing is added to the CRM until somebody checks and approves it.

How do people sign in?

With the Microsoft 365 account they already use in Outlook, once your organisation is linked to your ManufactIQ account. Where Outlook cannot pass that sign-in on, they sign in with their ManufactIQ email address and password instead.

Does it read our mailboxes?

No. It reads only the email that is open, and only when somebody presses the button. It asks for no access to mailboxes, and it does not read or send mail on its own.

Which Outlooks does it work in?

The new Outlook on Windows, classic Outlook on Windows with Microsoft 365, Outlook on the web and Outlook on Mac. Your Microsoft 365 administrator can deploy it to everybody from the Microsoft 365 admin centre, or anybody can add it to their own Outlook from a link.
